Each candle is hand-poured in small batches at our workshop in Exeter, Devon using 100% soy wax. We have chosen our soy wax specifically as it exhibits an excellent scent throw which enables us to create a delicate well-balanced, true-to-scent candle. We also use cotton wicks and either recyclable or reusable packaging for all of our candles.

OUR SCENTED CANDLES & CANDLE LETTERBOXES

Our beautifully artisanal soy candles have been hand-poured, and have been fragranced with notes inspired by the emotive memories of the ever-changing seasons.

Our candles are made with 100% Soy Wax. We only use high end fragrance oils that give an exceptional scent throw and are all certified for candle use. We also use pure cotton wicks, which means that they will burn right to the bottom/use all of the wax (apart from a very small residue at the bottom of the tin).

They are sent in sustainable letterboxes and beautiful print work that has been designed with nature, the seasons and storytelling in mind. Giving nature a helping hand by using plastic free, compostable or reusable packaging.

QUALITY CANDLES, MADE IN SMALL BATCHES

Our scented candles are hand poured and created in small batches that are consistent and high quality. Some of our candles are uniquely designed as part of our limited edition hampers, keeping our collections seasonal, so we could include some on-trend and seasonal scents.

Our small batch, Exeter based workshop produces very little waste and our energy consumption is low too. All our candles are handmade with responsibly sourced ingredients, which are locally sourced wherever possible. They are carefully selected but not all can be sourced within Devon so some are sourced from national suppliers. We continue to research ways to source our ingredients locally, but if you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact us at info@lauraylola.com.

Our candles are CLP Compliant. We follow the CLP regulation ("Classification, Labelling and Packaging") is a European Union legislation that standardised the warnings that have to be on products which contain essential and fragrance oils.

CANDLE ADVICE

Before you start to enjoy your scented candle, please ensure that the wick is trimmed to 5mm each and every time, before lighting.

Use a sharp wick trimmer or scissors to trim the wick to avoid fraying.

Make sure you remove any trimmings or other debris from the surface of the candle.

When you first light your candle do not extinguish it until the wax has melted across the top of the candle (it will take approximately 2 hours burning time so that there is an even wax melt pool)​. This will prevent tunnelling, where the wick sinks in the centre of the candle becoming difficult to light. Tunnelling leaves wasteful unmelted wax around the edge of the candle container.

Keep your candle away from flowing air. Moving air can contribute to black smokey stains on the container edges.

CANDLE SAFETY

To prevent fire and serious injury, burn candles within sight, Never leave lit candles unattended.
Burn candles away from pets and children.
Burn your candle in a well ventilated place and choose a space for your candle away from objects that can catch fire.
Only burn a candle on a level flat fire resistant surface and do not burn your candle for longer than 3-4 hours at a time.
Do not burn the last 10mm of wax at the bottom of the candle.
